lesson overview
The purpose of this lesson is to investigate, as a class how we as citizens can take action to become informed global citizens, that can provide alternatives to support sustainability. Each student will be given an avatar to research and consider all the possible factors associated with their particular avatar (cultural, social, economical). As a class students will be able to use the knowledge they have gained to share possible solutions their avatar would put in place to be an active global citizen, taking action on sustainability and the environment. This ties in one of the key inquiry questions of the unit “Are the effects of climate change the same for each person on Earth?” To answer this question, students' will construct posters to illustrate the possible solutions from their avatar and explain how their avatar would react to climate change compared to another country.
